QPIRG 101

The second Qpirg 101 of the semester will take place this coming Monday, November 15th from 5pm to 7pm at Qpirg McGill (3647 Rue University, 3rd floor). This workshop will give you an overview of what Qpirg is all about, how the organization is structured, and the different ways you can use your own skills to get involved in what specifically interests you.

If you are able, please send me an email (volunteer.qpirg,mcgill@gmail.com) to confirm your attendance. If you require childcare, please let me know by email 48 hours in advance. We regret that our space is not wheelchair accessible.

QPIRG LIBRARY

The QPIRG McGill resource centre is in the process of re-labeling all of the library books and dvds as well as designing a new classification system for our zine collection. In addition, we have the opportunity to work on book clubs and zine readings with other alternative libraries, and even put together exhibitions using the qpirg archives.

In order to do all of this with as much input and creativity as possible, we are looking to start a library collective. Interested individuals can help us with the classification work, assist in purchasing new materials, and take on projects of their own with the support of the resource centre. This is a great opportunity to get some experience in radical libraries and archiving and have a say in the changes happening at the QPIRG McGill resource centre.

If this sounds like something you would like to be involved in, send an email to qpirgmcgill_library@riseup.net telling us how you would like to get involved. We would like to have our first meeting within the next month, so let us know your availability (preferably Thursday or Friday evening or afternoon!).
