We are pleased to announce, KANATA’s new <\/strong>Executive President Alanna Bockus and new Executive Vice-President Sophia Rashid Khan!<\/p>\n

Interested in getting \u00a0involved?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There are many ways to become involved with the KANATA Community: \u00a0general membership, volunteering and\/or being part of the Executive Board.<\/p>\n

General membership and volunteering can begin during the summer whilst the 2010\/2011 Board will form and begin work in the fall.<\/p>\n

Major Events This Summer<\/strong><\/h3>\n

June 17 – CKUT \u00a0& \u00a0First Peoples’ House Present: Voices of Our Nations<\/em><\/p>\n

June 17, 18, 19 – Terress En Vues, GIRA, DIALOG, and the\u00a0Kanien’kehaka Onkwawenna Raotitiohkwa cultural and linguistic center\u00a0Present:\u00a0Revisioning the Americas through Indigenous Cinema <\/em>part of the First People’s Festival Pr\u00e9sence autochtone<\/p>\n

More information about these two events will be posted in the next week.<\/p>\n

KANATA is looking for volunteers to lend a hand at these events. If you are interested in attending this events and feel like volunteering please email us at: mcgillnativestudiesjournal@gmail.com<\/p>\n

June 21- National Aboriginal Day- The APTN will be broadcasting live during this day in a variety of locations.<\/p>\n

Also- the First People’s Festival Pr\u00e9sence autochtone is happening during the summer. The program will be available as of June 1st 2010.<\/p>\n
