The festival will last two days on June 21-22nd, corresponding with National Aboriginal Day and summer solstice, highlighting Aboriginal culture and art, as well as celebrating the grand re-opening of the\u00a0NFCM after months of renovation.<\/p>\n<p>***SCHEDULE***<\/p>\n<p>(more details to be added as information comes in)<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday June 21st<\/p>\n<p>* Third annual Voices of Our Nations \u2013 an 8-hour long radio broadcast across the country featuring on Aboriginal culture, art, traditions, and music, as well as exploring issues that affect indigenous communities in Canada (the broadcast will move between CKUT studio, Anarchist lot on St. Laurent, and NFCM)<br \/>\n* NFCM art exposition displaying community artists\u2019 works such as beading, dream catchers, and stone sculptures<br \/>\n* Community lunch and supper<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday June 22nd (Events will take place at the NFCM all day)<\/p>\n<p>* Mini-Powwow<br \/>\n* Sculpture auction fundraiser<br \/>\n* Community lunch and supper<\/p>\n<p>***************************************<\/p>\n<p>MARDI &amp; MERCREDI &#8211; LE 21-22 JUIN, 2011<br \/>\nNative Friendship Centre &amp; CKUT<br \/>\nOn vous invite \u00e0 participer aux Journ\u00e9es de c\u00e9l\u00e9brations autochtones, organis\u00e9 par le Centre inter-bande des jeunes (CIBJ), le Centre d\u2019amiti\u00e9 autochtone (CAAM), la station de radio CKUT (90,3 FM), et nos co-co-commanditaires. If you are interested, please contact mcgillnativestudiesjournal@gmail.com.<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Fall: Information Session for New Aboriginal Field Course<\/h3>\n<p>This summer marks the second year of \u00a0McGill&#8217;s new Aboriginal Field Course.<\/p>\n<p>The Aboriginal Field Course provides an opportunity for students from Social Work, Law, Medicine, and Anthropology to learn about Aboriginal cultures and worldviews, with a particular emphasis on Iroquoian teaching and their connection to the students&#8217; area of practice. The three-week intensive course includes one week in Kahnawake, Mohawk Territory where students learn firsthand from community members through presentations, interactive workshops, and cultural activities.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/8nWO76m9PK8\">here<\/a> for a short film about the course!<\/p>\n<p>Next Fall, KANATA will be holding an information session about this groundbreaking course.
