Get Involved
Volunteer
The QPIRG McGill Resource Centre is run by a collective of interested and dedicated individuals. Together, we decide on materials to purchase, organize events, and help with a variety of special projects. The Resource Centre reflects the interests of its collective members, and if there is a special project you would like to undertake or an existing project that you would like to get involved in, you should consider working with or joining the library collective.
For those who are not interested in joining the collective, the Resource Centre always needs people to help with everyday maintenance of the library (shelf-reading!) and improving our web presence. We are also excited to collaborate with individuals and groups on events and projects.
Donations
If you are getting rid of old books, periodicals,or dvds that you think would be of interest to the users of our library, we accept donations of materials after consultation with the collective.
***Please note that we have limited space and our collection emphasizes material that is relevant to our patrons. This means that we probably will not accept old self-help guides or chemistry textbooks, nor do we carry any homophobic, racist, and/or sexist items, regardless of their historical value.
Zines
In addition to accepting donations, the library is a great opportunity to circulate your own zines. We also consider purchases from individual creators on a case-by-case basis.
