Hello friends, radicals and cuties,
Planning for Radical Frosh 2017 has started, and we’re looking for volunteers to join our Summer Collective! The Collective helps shape the weekend of Rad Frosh to make it as great as it can be.
Rad Frosh is an alternative orientation program at McGill University, hosted by QPIRG-McGill. Rad Frosh aims to introduce new students to social and environmental justice activism both on and off campus, with an emphasis on accessibility, harm reduction and fun! This year, Rad Frosh will be held from Friday, September 1st to Sunday, September 3rd.
Members of the Rad Frosh Summer Collective can assist in all or any of the following:
- Selecting workshops, tours, and facilitators
- Brainstorming new events, ideas or initiatives
- Helping create and compile detailed accessibility information
- Selecting zines and items for frosh bags, stuffing bags and cutting bandanas
- Making a banner, sashes for the harm reduction squad, buttons and some other crafts
- Learning to screenprint
We want Summer Collective members to get involved in any aspects of Rad Frosh that most interest them! We’ll likely have 3-4 general meetings (with snacks) to discuss things like workshops and facilitators, and the rest will take the form of small meetings (also with snacks) to work on projects, tasks and skill-sharing for Summer Collective members, depending on interest.
We are based out of the QPIRG-McGill office at 3647 University, 3rd floor. This is unfortunately up 3 flights of stairs. While some activities will have to happen in the office, most meetings can be held in a location with step-free access (and air-conditioning). If you have any other accessibility questions or concerns, or would like to discuss other ways to be involved, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Our opening meeting was held on June 28th, and the next meeting will be held towards the end of July. If you’re interested in joining the Collective or have any questions, please get in touch at: email@example.com.
Looking forward to spending some of our summer with you!
