Bouteloua: In Solidarity with Algonquin Sacred Falls

February 7 @ 8:00 pm - 11:59 pm

Bar Le Ritz PDB
179 Rue Jean Talon West
(Metro De Castelnau)

Were you aware that there is currently a battle to “urbanize” a sacred river and waterfall belonging to the Algonquin people, mere kilometres away, just between what we know as Ottawa and Gatineau? The companies and supporters of the unjust construction say this will improve “the way Indigenous Peoples and non-Indigenous private sector companies work together”. However, it is clear that without consensus between Algonquin communities, there can be no steady steps towards “reconciliation”.

Support for the condo development stands in firm contradiction with reconciliation! Indigenous governments of the region stand in strong opposition to the proposed development. Join us in an evening of support for those on the forefront of this present day’s illegal land appropriation, and to celebrate Indigenous Sovereignty. Bouteloua Collective invites you to a magical evening to bring support and solidarity for those fighting against this unjust development.
