SUMMARY:Neighbourhood Solidarity
DESCRIPTION:At a time where police violence\, modern surveillance tactics\, and the criminalization of migrants are intensifying\, how do we work collectively to prepare to take care of each other\, communicate with each other\, and organize together? In the face of late fascism and global oppression\, across borders and movements\, it’s more important than ever to build networks to act from and foundations of care that support our shared goals. \nThis workshop provides a facilitated discussion reflecting on the common struggle\, offering practices of collective preparedness and tangible actions that we can take to be stronger together locally in the face of broad structural oppressive factors. We will be discussing neighbourhood solidarity groups as a form of resistance. This includes knowing your neighbours and supporting them when police/anti-immigration procedures/landlords are at their doors\, alternative communication methods\, and mutual aid food and resource projects. \nJoin us for this crucial workshop on March 24th at 5:30pm! \nArts Building\, W-25 \n853 rue Sherbrooke O \n5:30-7:30pm \nAccessibility: \nThe Arts Building is accessible by wheelchair via the Leacock Building (855 rue Sherbrooke O). There are accessible bathrooms on the ground floor of the Leacock Building.
