DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nQPIRG-McGill Alternative Library would like to invite you on a free in-person tour at Archives gaies du Québec\, one of the most important 2SLGBTQ+ archives in downtown Montréal. Guided by a staff member at the archive\, this tour introduces the public to a colossal collection of materials on gender and sexuality diversity in Québec\, past projects and exhibitions\, and the behind-the-scenes process of preserving and running the archive. Lying at the intersection of archival studies and queer history\, this casual event is open to researchers\, students\, and the public at large. Everyone is welcome and the event is free\, but space is limited to 15 people only and registration is required.\n\n \nEvent Details:\nTime: Monday June 27\, 2022\, from 1 PM to 2.30 PM.\nLocation: 1000 Atateken (Amherst)\, Suite 201-A Montreal (Quebec) H2L 3K5.\nLanguage: English and French.\nCapacity: 15 people. Waitlist in case of high demand: 5 people.\nRegistration required. Deadline to register: Friday June 24\, 2022.\nScan the QR code to register or go to this link: https://linktr.ee/qpirgmcgill_library.\n\n \nMasks are required at all times and will be provided.\n\n \nPriority tickets: available on Monday June 13 and reserved for individuals with reduced mobility and those who self-identify as disabled\, neurodivergent\, and/or Indigenous.\nGeneral tickets: available on Saturday June 18 and are open to everybody else.\nThis ticket policy is put in place as an effort to make knowledge accessible to marginalized groups who would otherwise have a harder chance to access these services and events. We do not require any proof for priority tickets as we fully respect a person’s identity.\n\n \nAccessibility: The archive is located on the second floor. There is a wheelchair-accessible elevator and a gender-neutral washroom. Unfortunately\, the elevator cannot be operated autonomously. We are more than happy to accommodate you into and out of the elevator. Please register for a priority ticket if you need the elevator to access the archive. This accessibility is possible with the kind help from Groupe CDH\, the neighboring office next to the archive.
