Programme d'emprunt de manuels scolaires<\/h1>\n\n

How it works<\/h2>\n\n\n

The Free Textbook Loan Program is a student-led initiative of QPIRG-McGill Alternative Library. Students donate their textbooks to QPIRG-McGill in return for a modest compensation. Every semester, we lend these books out free of charge<\/strong> to students upon request, with extended borrowing periods.<\/strong> We aim to address the lack of access to physical textbooks and lessen the financial burden of higher education. Our program is independent of the Course Reserves collection of McGill Library and partly funded by the Arts Undergraduate Improvement Fund.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also find free online course materials through Open Educational Resources<\/strong><\/a>, offered by the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU).<\/p>\n\n\n

Borrow<\/h2>\n\n\n

Every semester, we lend textbooks out free of charge to students upon request, with a one-semester loaning period.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Fill out the request form<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Wait for the confirmation with pick-up time and location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Return by the provided deadline.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Loaning period: from the first day of class to the end of the exam period in the same semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    First-come, first-served. Free. Open to all McGill students, with priority given to students in the Faculty of Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n

    Donate<\/h2>\n\n\n

    Donations are welcomed from everyone, including McGill students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Wait for the confirmation with drop-off time and location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Drop off donations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Approval of donations is at the discretion of QPIRG-McGill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Textbooks can be dropped off at 3516 Park Avenue during opening hours.<\/p>\n\n\n
