Board of Directors
Are you looking for an opportunity to:
- Learn more about and/or support important social and environmental issues in Montreal
- Make QPIRG-McGill a more active and effective organization
- Work collectively within a non-profit
- Develop skills like problem-solving, supervision, financial management and event planning
QPIRG-McGill is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which is responsible for management, budgets, project development, employees, working groups, and the development of the organization’s political vision. Every April, student and community members are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which welcomes all QPIRG members. Additionally, one representative from the Student Society of McGill University (SSMU) and one representative from the Post-Graduate Student Society (PGSS) sit on the board. The board makes all decisions by consensus.
Our projects in 2025/2026 will include:
- reopening our Discretionary Funding program
- bringing back our Community Research program
- expanding resources for Working Groups
- expanding our alternative library
- organizing two major event series
- hiring summer staff
- improving our office space
Our board of directors plays a key role in making sure all of this can happen!
We are looking for new Board members (current McGill students or community members) to play a seminal role in creating community ties and equity programming on campus. Non-students or community members are also welcome to join the QPIRG-McGill Board.
If you are interested in joining the Board, apply below! For more information keep an eye out for our Board Information Sessions and Board Nominations in April of each year, or contact us.
