Event Co-Sponsorship

Campus and community groups are encouraged to apply for a co-sponsorship with QPIRG-McGill when planning any social justice-oriented event that could benefit from our collaboration in organizing. If you would like to request funding only but do not need additional organizing support, or if you would like to request funding for a project that is not an event, please apply to our discretionary fund instead.

We are able to offer up to $500 in funding for co-sponsored events, and projects will be approved according to current staff and board capacity, as well as our organizing priorities for the year. Priority is given to events unlikely to receive funding from mainstream sources, such as McGill University, the Federal Government, the National Film Board, etc. In a typical semester, many fewer co-sponsorships are approved when compared to discretionary funding requests, due to the additional labour it takes to fulfil these requests.

We consider co-sponsorship requests on a rolling basis at our next upcoming board meeting. The board meets between 1-4 x per month, depending on the time of year, so please send your request a minimum of 3 weeks in advance of the planned event dates.
