Stencil Making Workshop

We are thrilled to announce the first in a series of workshops and training for our QPIRG working groups!

This first workshop will be a beginners guide to the art of stencil making. The stencil has been a great utility in a variety of leftist causes and an excellent way to amplify your message and visual language.

In the workshop we will have a brief overview of stencilling, introducing participants to design elements, principals and strategies. Then, participants will learn effective techniques in the creation of their own piece. All necessary stencil-making materials will be provided.

Feel free to invite anyone participating in grassroots social justice projects and groups.

When: July 12th, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm
Where: QPIRG-McGill, Library space, 3516 Av du Parc

To bring: Any ideas you may have, visual inspiration, any images you would wish to trace.

Accessibility: The library space at 3516 du Parc is on the ground floor, with three steps up to the front door, and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. This workshop does involve using cutting tools and as such does require tensile strength and some degree of manual mobility and sensitivity. Participants who cannot wield cutting tools are welcome to attend the workshop anyways, but may only be able to participate in the parts of the workshop that involve design.
