An ethnography of the late-night bar staff at Brasserie Benelux, Nightshift explores the unique lifestyle imposed by night shift work. Featuring interviews with bartenders and bussers, the film inquires into the impact of nightshift work on one’s physical and mental health, as well as the alternative social norms of the bar at night.

A radical documentary capturing the energy of the labor movement in Québéc in the early 1970s, a time when Québéc’s three largest unions— CSN, FTQ, and CEQ— came together to take a stand against the Québéc government. Groulx exposes the evils of consumer society in the context of workers’ rights, offering a Marxist critique of the capitalist ethos.
